”BTS” JIMIN's ”Like Crazy” runs in reverse on the US and Japanese Spotify charts
BTS' JIMIN's song "Like Crazy" has been trending in opposite directions on the Spotify charts in the US and Japan, demonstrating his global popularity.
JIMIN's "Like Crazy" recorded over 650,000 streams on the US Spotify Daily Top Songs Chart on June 9th, becoming his highest number of streams to date.
"Like Crazy" rose 15 places from the previous day to 48th place, becoming the highest-ranking K-pop song and the only Korean song to do so.
"Like" has been on the US Spotify Daily Top Songs chart for 231 days, breaking the record for the longest charting time for a Korean song.
"Crazy" recorded over 3.72 million streams and ranked 87th on the US Spotify Weekly Top Songs Chart (May 31 - June 6) announced on June 7.
This marks the 32nd consecutive week on the chart, making it the first and only Korean song to do so in the chart's history.
Crazy" is also dominating the Japanese Spotify Daily Top Songs Chart. According to the record on the 9th,
The song recorded over 140,000 streams in one day on the Top Songs chart, ranking 41st on the chart, its highest ranking to date, and is still a hot topic even 14 months after its release.
It also recorded the highest number of streams on the Japanese Spotify Weekly Top Songs Chart (May 31st to June 6th) with over 770,000 streams.
The song is showing a momentum of recovery, rising to 52nd place, its highest position on the chart. "
"Like Crazy" has maintained its No. 1 position on the Korean daily chart for 230 days, and was ranked as the global daily top on Spotify on May 9th with over 2.2 million streams.
It reached 44th place on the K-Pop Song Chart. It has been on the charts for 442 days since its release, and has been ranked within the top 50 for 184 days, making it the best solo song by a K-Pop solo artist.
Jimin has broken down the barriers between the huge music market of Korea, the US where it is difficult for non-English speaking artists to succeed, and Japan where domestic consumption is high.
On the 5th, Jimin's first solo album "FACE" achieved sales of over 500,000 units in the US and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
This again set a record as the first non-English (Korean) album by an Asian solo artist in the US.
