Jung Yong Hwa of the band CNBLUE shared his thoughts on the release of his third mini album. Jung Yong Hwa released his third mini album on various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 3rd.
The group will release all the tracks from the album "One Last Day" as well as the music video for the title track "Night Runner (Shooting Star)."
Jung Yong Hwa said, "Since this is an album commemorating the 10th anniversary of my solo debut, I wanted to make it more careful and dense."
"It's an album of love, and the most Jung Yong Hwa-like album," he said. He continued, "I want to be remembered as an artist who has steadily developed," and "I want to express my feelings in a way that makes me stand out, like in my new songs."
"Even when the day comes when I no longer exist, I hope that the songs that contain the happiness, laughter, and dreams that they have given to so many people will remain in heaven forever," he added.
'Day' is an album that contains only the moments that we want to capture in our everyday lives.
This work clearly shows Hwa's musical growth. The main concept of the new album is 'SPACE', which means "universe" and "space," and it is a work that expresses the boundlessness of the universe.
It symbolizes Jung Yong Hwa's musical possibilities and expansion, and at the same time, it depicts a special space that holds his inner self as an artist and his heart for his fans.
Runner (Shooting Star) is a pop jump song that creates a dreamy yet sad atmosphere with its lyrical piano melody and guitar sound that evokes the night atmosphere.
The song is a metaphor for life, describing a shooting star as a "Night Runner," and is expected to convey a warm feeling to listeners as it is filled with Jung Yong Hwa's deep thoughts and sensibility.
Below is a Q&A with Jung Yong Hwa. Q. Please tell us your thoughts on the release of your third mini album, "One Last Day."
Since this is an album commemorating the 10th anniversary of my solo debut, I wanted to make something more careful and dense.
It is an album that is filled with love and is the most Jung Yong Hwa-like album, so I hope you will give it lots of love.
Q. Please introduce the title song "Night Runner (Shooting Star)."
The subtitle of this title song is "Shooting Star."
A shooting star that falls carrying the wishes of many people
Runner" and conveys the message that "Even if I disappear from this night, my dreams and wishes will remain forever in this sky."
Q. What are the key points to listen for in the title song "Night Runner (Shooting Star)"?
I think it would be even better if you could listen to the song while reading the lyrics.
The song ends with a FADE OUT. I created this sound with the image of a shooting star gradually burning and disappearing, so I hope you will concentrate on this part.
Q. What was a memorable episode during the filming of the music video? We filmed it in New York, and I worked with an old friend of mine.
We shared a lot of opinions with each other and had a lot of fun filming, so I think my colors are well included.
You participated in writing and composing most of the songs recorded on "Last Day." What did you focus on the most when composing?
As always, I did the work this time.
The part I focused on the most was looking deep into my inner self and trying to create a song that was as true to myself as possible.
So, I think that people who have listened to a lot of my songs will be able to discover a new side of me. Q. Not only did you work on the songs for this album, but you also worked on the concept, visuals, and music.
You were in charge of the overall production of the album, including the videos. What did you pay the most attention to? The atmosphere of the songs, the concept photos, the content of the music videos, the concerts, and all of the other aspects.
I wanted the balance to match, so I took the lead overall. I tried hard to make the emotions I heard when I was writing the songs blend well into the album.
Q. What does the album "One Last Day" mean to you, Jung Yong Hwa?
Like the last night of a meteor burning and disappearing, this album is filled with my color and passion.
Q. After the album release, you have a solo concert coming up. What are some points to look out for?
If the CNBLUE concert has an atmosphere like "Everybody, Let's Jump," then I want to include more of my album concept and message in my solo concert.
I'm working hard to come up with ideas and prepare. It will be a performance that is most like Jung Yong Hwa. Q. This year marks the 10th anniversary of your solo debut. What kind of artistic endeavors do you have in the future?
I want to be remembered as an artist who has steadily developed.
I hope that even when the day comes when I am gone, the songs that contain the happiness, laughter, and dreams that I have given to so many people will remain in heaven forever, just like "Star." Q.
Lastly, please say a few words to your fans. Everyone, 10 years have passed in the blink of an eye since you started your solo activities. It feels like time has flown by so quickly.
