”Only by admitting your mistakes”... Nana (AFTERSCHOOL) reveals her thoughts again after criticizing ”THE BOYZ” Sunwoo

Singer and actress Nana (AFTERSCHOOL) has once again spoken out about her comments criticizing the attitude of Sunwoo, a member of the Korean boy band THE BOYZ.

Recently, a video titled “Nana, keep up the good work!” was posted on the YouTube channel “Teo.” In the video, Nana addressed the controversy surrounding her recent direct comments criticizing Sunwoo (THE BOYZ).

Nana, who is usually good at giving praise, said, “I'm a very honest person. There's one pressure I feel, but if I want to live honestly from now on, I guess I have to soften my approach. There's pressure to keep things going smoothly.”

　She continued, “The more influential you are, the more you have to acknowledge what's right, what's wrong, and where you've made mistakes. It's not about turning a blind eye; it's about doing what you have to do.”

MC Jang Dong-yoon agreed, saying, “Being honest is often a brave act. There's a weight to honesty, but I think being sincere and honest is cool.” Nana revealed, “That's why the agency gets really worried. They scold me to be careful.”

In April this year, a video of Sunwoo dropping his AirPods and having them picked up by a security guard went viral. At the time, he dropped his AirPods while moving in an elevator, shouted, “My AirPods!” and the security guard picked them up and handed them back to him.

　When the video spread on social media, Nana immediately left a direct comment saying, “You shouldn't do that.” She criticized his attitude for not picking up the AirPods himself and instead having the security guard do it.

When Nana's comment became a topic of discussion, she explained, “It's not good to judge someone based on a short video, but his actions seemed very rude to me, and it was at least a shocking video for me.”

　She continued, “Thinking about his actions and words, I felt that such behavior was wrong. So, I wrote about my feelings that ‘you can't get away with that kind of behavior.’ Along with ‘you can't get away with that,’ I would also say, ‘where did you learn to act like that?’”

　Sunwoo, who was embroiled in the attitude controversy, immediately apologized through a fan communication platform, saying, “I can't keep explaining everything like this forever, but there was also my mistake in making it seem that way. From now on, I will act properly so that such regrettable incidents don't arise again.”

　Subsequently, he officially apologized again, stating, “I have been constantly reflecting on my words and actions, as well as my carelessness. I apologize for the fact that my personal thoughts and irrational actions caused the intended meaning of my words to be distorted.” He conveyed words of apology to those who criticized his carelessness and immaturity.
