<Men's Golf> ”Shinhan Donghae Open” kicks off in Songdo, Incheon... Japan's ”golf hero” Ryo Ishikawa and others take part
The Shinhan Donghae Open was held on the 11th at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Songdo, Incheon, South Korea.
The tournament was launched at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea. Sponsored by Shinhan Financial Group, it is a tournament that is held by the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour and Asian Tour.
The tournament, which is jointly organized by the Japan Tour and the Japan Tour, has increased its total prize money by 100 million won (approximately 10.6 million yen) this year, bringing the total prize money to 1.5 billion won, with a winner's prize of 270 million won.
The winner of the tournament will be given a five-year seed on the KPGA Tour, and two years on the Asian Tour and Japan Tour.
The Korean Open is the tournament with the longest history and tradition among single-sponsor tournaments held in Korea. It was founded in 1981 by Korean golf enthusiasts living in Japan, led by the late Lee Hee-gon, Honorary Chairman of Shinhan Bank.

A total of 57 Korean players will be competing in the "Fujisan Kei Classic" tournament on the Japanese tour, which ended on the 7th.
The winner, Yasumasa Nagano (22), and Takashi Ogiso (28), who achieved his first victory at the 2024 Hana Bank Invitational, are Japan's "golf heroes."
Ryo Ishikawa (34) and others are on the list of participants. Defending champion Kensei Hirata will not be participating.
Among Korean players, Bae Sang-moon is aiming to become the second player in history to win the tournament three times, and Moon Do-yup, who has the most wins this season, is aiming to win two consecutive KPGA Tour tournaments following his victory last week.
