South Korean government responds to concerns about uranium wastewater inflow from North Korea: ”No abnormalities found”
On the 21st, the South Korean government announced that it was conducting regular monitoring regarding concerns that wastewater from a uranium refinery in Pyeongsan County, North Hwanghae Province, North Korea, was being discharged into South Korea.
"The results of an analysis of uranium and five types of heavy metals earlier this month confirmed that there were no abnormalities," the South Korean government said.
Samples were taken from two fixed points at the mouth of the Imjin River and seven other fixed points, and uranium concentrations were investigated, confirming normal levels.
