Kim Jae-seop, a lawmaker from the People Power Party, the largest opposition party in South Korea, criticized Yoo Shi-min, a journalist and former chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, who spoke about the withdrawal of US troops from South Korea.

Min is not a particularly influential person, but if his remarks were accepted and US troops were to withdraw from South Korea, it would immediately put President Lee Jae-myung in a crisis.
"If the US troops in South Korea were to withdraw, all foreign and institutional investors would flee, and our country's KOSPI (Korea Composite Stock Price Index) would immediately plummet," he added.
Prior to this, on the 19th, Yoo commented on the US-Korea tariff negotiations on his YouTube channel, "If former President Yoon Seok-yeol were alive today, how much money would he give to the US?
"I think the US would have threatened to withdraw its troops if we didn't sign the agreement now," he said. "President Lee said, 'The idea that we can't defend ourselves without foreign troops is an outdated idea.
"Even if we are in a position of power, we can (maintain independent national defense),' and that is our answer (to the United States)."
