IVE's GAEUL releases choreography vlog for new song ”beats”

GAEUL of IVE has released a Vlog documenting the choreography creation for her new song "beats".

Her agency, STARSHIP Entertainment, recently shared the Vlog footage via IVE's official YouTube channel. It captures the entire process leading up to the completion of the performance for "beats", a track from their 4th mini-album "IVE SECRET". This performance, for which Gaul contributed choreography, premiered during the 'SHOW WHAT I AM' world tour held at Seoul KSPO DOME (formerly the Olympic Gymnastics Arena) from 31st October to 2nd November, garnering significant attention.

GAEUL shared, "When I first heard 'beats', it had a similar vibe to 'Cherish'." "It had a cute quality yet strongly conveyed hip-hop vibes. I wanted to work on a song like that, and after deliberating between 'GOTCHA (Baddest Eros)' and 'beats', I chose 'beats'."

She then projected key choreography concepts she'd sketched on a tablet onto a camera. GAEUL refined the movements alone in the practice room, solidifying the foundation of the routine. Later, alongside choreographer Simeez, they conceptualised movements for each section, exchanging ideas to meticulously reinforce the details. GAEUL, who had also participated in creating the choreography for 'TKO' performed at the April fan concert 'IVE SCOUT', stated, "It seems to be progressing more smoothly than the first time," while conveying her determination: "People really loved 'TKO'. So there's a bit of pressure. I have to do well."

　GAEUL continuously refined the performance through repeated choreography creation, filming, and monitoring. On the day of filming the demo video, she synchronised with the dancers and even led group-specific lessons. After filming, they exchanged feedback to create a highly polished demo video.

At the end of the video, GAEUL stated, "I truly believe we paid attention to every single detail. I thought about the members while creating choreography filled with love. I wanted it to suit everyone, for each person to stand out, and for it to be cute and refreshing." "I'm very happy and proud to have created the concert choreography up to 'beats'. 　GAEUL recently showcased her unreleased solo track 'Odd' during the 'SHOW WHAT I AM' world tour, demonstrating her prowess in both vocals and performance. Adding to the track's fantastical and mysterious mood, her involvement in the lyrics further broadened her artistic scope, heightening anticipation for her future endeavours.
