J-HOPE recently visited the Wonju Army 36th Infantry Division White Tiger Recruit Training Battalion, where he served during his active duty, and celebrated the '2025 Homecoming Day'.
The participants of the event said, "I'm here to remember the time we spent together training strong soldiers under the name of the White Tiger, and the passionate youth we had together."
They also spent some time together burying a time capsule beneath a monument bearing the words "Place the Dead in the Darkness." They promised to reopen the time capsule on June 29, 2035.
After the event, photos of J-HOPE were shared through online communities and social media, with fans and netizens commenting, "It's impressive that he took the time to visit Wonju.

At the time of the discharge, J-HOPE said, "During my one year and six months of military service, I am indescribably grateful to the Wonju citizens who greeted and supported the soldiers whenever they met.
"I felt a deep emotion that I cannot express in words," he said, revealing a special memory from Wonju. He will be appearing at the "Lo" music festival, which will be held in Berlin, Germany on the 13th.
They have continued to be active since Discharge, including appearing as headliners at the 2017 BTS All-Star Gala and teasing the comeback of the full group BTS.
