An outdoor stage greeting for the JAPAN series "Anonymous Lovers" was held on the afternoon of the 20th at the BIFF outdoor stage at the Busan Film Center in Udong, Busan.
Director Sho Tsukikawa, actors Shun Oguri and Han Hyo Ju were also present at the event. "Anonymous Lovers" is a story about a man and a woman who are filled with pain and secrets, and who melt into each other through chocolate.
Director Sho Tsukikawa describes the film as "a story about how characters with communication difficulties miraculously meet and the kind of life they lead."
He introduced the film by saying, "I hope you will watch it like the chocolate you eat during your break." In the film, Oguri Shun plays the germaphobe heir to a major confectionery manufacturer.
Fujiwara Sosuke plays Hana, a chocolatier with scopophobia, and Han Hyo Ju plays Hana.
Oguri Shun explained his character, saying, "Sosuke is a person who suffers from germaphobia due to trauma, but is desperately trying to survive."
Han Hyo Ju also spoke about her role, saying, "Hana has scopophobia. She can't look people in the eye and is a reclusive genius who just makes chocolate."
"Anonymous Lovers" is a global project by the Netflix JAPAN team based on a French film.
This was apparently one of the reasons why Han Hyo Ju decided to appear in this film.
Han Hyo Ju said, "It's been a while since we've done a Japanese-Korean co-production, and it's not easy to find a good team. It's a big challenge, but I thought it would be a fun shoot."
"Anonymous Lovers," which will be released on October 16th, has been invited to the "On-Screen" category of the 30th Busan International Film Festival.
Oguri Shun commented, "I'm happy to be here at this memorable time of the 30th anniversary," and "I'm so happy to be able to present my work in a place like this."
"It is a great honor to be able to introduce the film and stand on this stage," said Han Hyo Ju. "As a film lover, the Busan International Film Festival is an object of admiration and yearning for me," she said.
The feeling I had when I stood on stage with "Only You," which was selected as the opening film, is still vivid in my mind. The Busan International Film Festival has a very significant meaning for me, and I hope that it will continue to be a part of my life for many years to come.
I sincerely hope that this will become a celebration for people all over the world."
