On the 24th, Ace Bed said, "This donation will help Seungil Hope Convalescent Hospital operate smoothly and help patients with Lou Gehrig's disease receive specialized medical and nursing care services."
The donation from Ace Bed was made in July 2023 when Park Bo-Gum, an actor and exclusive model for the brand, participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge and donated to the charity.
After spreading the message of support for Rick's disease patients, CEO Ahn Sung-ho agreed with Park Bo-Gum's wishes and donated 100 million won to the hospital construction fund.
An additional 300 million won (approximately 31 million yen) was then donated three times, bringing the total donation to 400 million won (approximately 42 million yen).
The ceremony was held on the 21st at the Ace Avenue Seoul store in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and was attended by Seungil Hope Foundation Chairman Roshon Kim and Acebed's Choi Bum-seok.
Seungil Hope Medical Hospital in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, provides customized medical care and treatment for patients and their families with severe rare muscular diseases.
It is the world's first specialized hospital for treating Lou Gehrig's disease that provides nursing care services. An Ace Bed representative said, "This donation will help Seungil Hope Hospital to operate smoothly and improve the quality of life of patients.
"I would like to see the focus shift to this issue," he said, adding, "We plan to continue participating in the support of patients with Lou Gehrig's disease."
