According to the Washington Post on May 30th (local time), the most special customer since the opening of the bakery "Taste by Spellbound" in Avan Village, Connecticut on the 24th.
A nearby black bear entered the garage while the bakery clerk was loading products into the car for delivery. Connecticut is currently home to between 1,000 and 1,200 black bears, and it's not uncommon for bears to appear in civilian settlements.
CCTV footage obtained by local media showed a panicked store clerk backing away as a black bear entered and grabbed a box of cakes.
In the video, the bear dragged a box of cupcakes out and started eating cupcakes in the back of the garage, eating 60 cupcakes and several coconut cakes. Luckily, no one was hurt in this incident. The bear left the cupcake behind after another employee drove into the garage and frightened the bear, WP said.
A spokesperson for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection describes 'hazing,' a method of luring bears with sweets to trap them and giving them an inconvenient memory, such as making loud noises, so that they never come back. He explained that he had released the bear.
According to the paper, the bakery sold cupcakes topped with bear-shaped cookies to commemorate the "bear customer."
