"Japan, Korea, and Philippines will suffer the most if there was a war in Taiwan" : British media investigation
An analysis was published that said, "If a war were to break out in Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and the Philippines would be hit the hardest by the destruction of supply chains in this region."

According to Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP) on June 29th, the research arm of the British weekly The Economist, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), published a white paper the day before.

This white paper assesses the risks of a conflict in which Taiwanese and Chinese forces clash and the US military enters the conflict, stating that "Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines, which are adjacent to Taiwan, will be the most damaged, while Australia, Hong Kong and parts of Southeast Asia would be seriously vulnerable".

It continued, "The disruption of the intraregional information and communication technology (ICT) production and supply network will have an unbalanced impact on Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia," adding, "Military clashes will affect maritime transport, passenger traffic, and air cargo. It will cause huge trouble."

"However, companies still see business opportunities in the region and will not move their supply chains to any significant extent from the region to other locations," the EIU said.

"As a result, companies will not withdraw from Asia, but will instead seek ways to reduce risk."
