Street trees uprooted, flooded roads everywhere... Typhoon damage continues across the country = Korea
Typhoon No.6 has moved northward over the Korean Peninsula, causing typhoon damage in various parts of South Korea. In the Yeongnam and Jeonnam regions, roads have already been flooded and natural monuments have been damaged, but no casualties have been reported so far.

As of 8 a.m. on August 10th, a total of 81 calls had been received by the Gyeongnam Fire Department and the Changwon Fire Department. Around 6:19 a.m. on the 11th, bricks fell at an apartment in Neungpo-dong, Geoje, Gyeongnam, damaging many parked cars. No casualties were reported as a result of the accident. At around 7:26 a.m. on the day, a tree fell on a road in Mundong-dong, Geoje, and vehicle traffic was restricted.

There was also a series of damages related to backflow and drainage. Around 7:21 a.m. on the day, a car was washed away by a riverbed in Jinhae District, Changwon City. In Namyang-dong and Banji-dong, Seongsan-gu, rainwater backflowed through sewers, flooding roads above the Samdong underpass. The Changwon Fire Department is continuing to drain water from flooded homes and shopping districts. There were no casualties.

Busan is expected to experience strong winds with a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 40 meters per second and heavy rain of up to 300 millimeters through the evening of the 10th. As a result, 433 residents of 264 households, fearing flooding and building collapse, evacuated to nearby lodging facilities and relatives' homes. According to Busan City and the fire department, between the afternoon of the 9th and 6:00 a.m. on the 10th, 31 reports were received of power outages in some areas due to fallen trees, as well as signboards about to fall.

A 4-meter-long and 3-meter-wide rock rolled down from a nearby mountain on Bangeojin loop road in Dong-gu, Ulsan, restricting traffic in both directions.

Trains and flights are also affected. In preparation for the typhoon, the Gangwon Headquarters of the Korea Railroad Corporation announced that it will suspend train services on the Yeongdong and Taebaek lines from the 10th. According to the Korea Airports Corporation Jeju Airport and other sources, as of 8:30 a.m. today, 213 flights (117 departs and 96 arrivals) to and from Jeju have been canceled due to Typhoon No.6. Of these, 204 flights were canceled in advance.
