<W Contribution> The Japanese archipelago, the world's strongest "armory" (2) = The awesomeness of Japan's military base, which is not well known to South Korea
*Koreans are aware of the UN military headquarters and US military bases that have confronted North Korea, but are not so aware of their rear bases in Japan. Seven bases in Japan, including the Yokosuka base, have played a major role in the safety and prosperity of South Korea, Japan, and Northeast Asia.

● Camp Zama (Kanagawa Prefecture)

The U.S. Forces Japan Army Command is stationed there. U.S. Army Headquarters and Air Battalion in Japan, Constitutional Battalion, U.S. Army Engineer Battalion Japan Dispatch, U.S. Army Communications Brigade and Communications Battalion, U.S. Army Military Information Battalion and Communications Battalion, U.S. Army Legal Affairs Office, Pacific Regional Welfare Command (There are medical, health, and dental departments), but they are stationed jointly with the Ground Component Command of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.

Camp Zama, where the US Forces Japan Army Command and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force jointly use the base, has the character of a "US-Japan Army Integrated Command". Similarly, since Yokosuka Naval Base is the "U.S.-Japan Navy Joint Command" and Yokota Air Base is the "U.S.-Japan Air Force Joint Command", today's U.S. Forces Japan in the land, sea and air is oriented toward the "Unified Forces" form with the Japanese Self-Defense Forces. I'm in the middle of doing it.

● Sasebo Navy Base (Nagasaki Prefecture)

Sasebo has been used as a military port since 1886. A 250-ton crane was completed in 1913, and a large dock was built in the 1940s that could moor and repair Yamato-class battleships. It primarily served as a repair and supply base for large battleships, where destroyers and smaller ships were built.

Amphibious assault ships belonging to the 11th Amphibious Squadron of the US Navy and ships belonging to the 7th Sweeping Squadron are stationed, and various US Navy combatants such as Aegis warship and nuclear submarines call at the port. The US Navy's 7th Expeditionary Strike Group, Patrolling Force, 7th Fleet Landing Party, 5th Carrier Strike Group, etc. are all in place, and it also serves as a base for the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force.

● Kadena Air Base (Okinawa Prefecture)

Kadena Air Base is a large-scale air base with two runways. The 18th Wing under the control of the 5th Air Force of the United States and the 353d Special Operations Group of the US Air Force are deployed. The 18th Wing has an air squadron, a civil engineering corps, a maintenance corps, and a medical corps under its control. The air squadron consists of 1 to 3 combat squadrons (mainly F-15), aerial refueling squadron (KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft), and aerial air control squadron (E-3B).

Kadena Air Base, which has a total of more than 90 air powers, will play the role of an outpost that carries out special operations and reconnaissance missions to seize air superiority. The US Army's anti-aircraft regiment, which operates the 82nd Reconnaissance Squadron (RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft), the 733th Air Mobility Squadron, and the Patriot PAC-3, is also stationed. During the June 25th War (*Korean War, which began on June 25th, 1950), a B-29 bomber that took off from Kadena Air Base set sail on the Korean Peninsula.

● White Beach Area (Okinawa Prefecture)

The US Navy's offensive nuclear-powered submarines mainly call at ports. A significant number of nuclear-powered submarines calling at White Beach are equipped with Tomahawk missiles with nuclear warheads. In addition to nuclear submarines, assault landing ships and supply ships also call at ports. There is also a US Navy oil storage facility.

As mentioned above, in addition to the seven bases (rear bases of the United Nations Army Command), the bases of the U.S. Forces Japan are "Iwakuni U.S. Marine Corps / Marine Air Group Base (Yamaguchi Prefecture)" and "Atsugi U.S. Navy / Aircraft Wing". Large and small bases such as "Base (Kanagawa Prefecture)" and "Misawa Combat Air Wing Base (Aomori Prefecture)" are scattered all over the place.

In addition, the US military has newly established a ballistic missile defense command center at the US military general supply yard in Kanagawa prefecture near Tokyo to prepare for ballistic missile attacks from North Korea and China.

While the U.S. Forces Korea has 28,000 troops, these U.S. Forces Korea troops have more than doubled to nearly 60,000. In addition, while the USFK is centered on the Army, the USFK is centered on the forces of the Navy and Air Force.

Therefore, when compared in terms of state-of-the-art military equipment (fighters, ships, submarines, etc.), the U.S. Forces in Japan not only far surpasses the strength of the U.S. Forces in Korea, but is also the best in the world except for the mainland of the United States. It seems that the place that possessed the strength of the Japanese archipelago is exactly the place.

If this is added to the strength of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces, the total military power in the Japanese archipelago will effectively be the mainland US when considering the quality level of military equipment and troops (US Army and Self-Defense Forces members). Except for that, it is no exaggeration to say that it is the highest level in the world that controls not only China but also Russia.

As already proven during the 6/25 War, such Japan as a rear base has and will continue to play an absolute role in protecting South Korea's security and freedom. We must not forget the fact that we are fulfilling.

From this point of view, we must not neglect the improvement of relations with Japan and the friendly relations.
