Kimchi as "Chinese vegetable" ... Korean internet users are angry at "Single's Inferno" Song Jia
YouTuber Song Jia (24/Free Zia), who appeared in Netflix's controversial "Single's Inferno" and has been criticized for wearing fake brand-name products, was found to have referred to kimchi chim (a dish of steamed pork belly with aged kimchi) as "pao tsai (泡菜)" in Chinese in a video she posted in the past. This led another controversy in Korea.

In August 2020, Song Jia posted a video of taking a Chinese lesson and eating on the "bilibili" channel known as the Chinese version of YouTube. In this video, Song Jia commented, "I go home and eat Kimchi Chim like this," and wrote "pao tsai" in the subtitles. Pao tsai is a fermented food that originated in Sichuan Province, China, which is made by soaking vegetables in spices such as ginger, chili pepper, and Chinese pepper and salt water.

Korean internet users who saw this video said, "In a situation where China distorts kimchi as 'pao cai', how dare Koreans explain kimchi like that", "It's more serious than the fake brand product problem."

Influencer Son Jia, who appeared on Netflix's "Single's Inferno" and gained popularity, recently apologized for admitting that he was wearing a fake brand product.
