"Severe injuries, sew 11 stitches" ... Short track Korea Rep. National team Park Jang-hyuk reveals his intention to participate in the 1500M = Beijing Olympics

Korea Rep. National team Park Jang-hyuk (23), a men's speed skating short track, was injured during the 1000-meter quarter-final race on the 7th.

Park collided with an Italian player while gliding in 2nd place. After that, I bumped into a Chinese player. Injured his left finger during this process. Park tried to continue the race, but couldn't move because of the flowing blood. He received first aid from medical staff and was taken to a nearby hospital.

As a result of the video judgment, Park decided to advance to the semi-finals, but did not make it. An official of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee said, "My left finger has torn. I decided to abstain only from this event."

Park was seriously injured by sewing 11 stitches, but is expected to be able to participate in the 1500 meters on the 9th. He himself has revealed his intention to participate in the rest of the competition.
