Former comfort women passed away, 98 years old ... 11 surviving former comfort women = Korean coverage
Korean former comfort woman Kim Yang-ju passed away on the afternoon of May 1st. 98 years old.

Kim was admitted to a hospital in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do because of sepsis, a local support group reported on the 2nd.

Kim was born on February 7th, 1924. "I was invited to get a job and was forced to live as a comfort woman in the former Japanese army in China" she testified.

In 2009, Kim, who was 85 years old, said at a press conference requesting the adoption of a resolution of the Gyeongsangnam-do Assembly for "solving the former comfort women problem", "If Japan apologizes, I have no further wishes." She was at the forefront of pursuing problem-solving for former comfort women in the Gyeongsangnam-do area.

Due to Kim's passing away, 11 of the former comfort women certified by the Korean government are still alive.
