While there were no demonstrations in Hong Kong, the slogan of the demonstration at that time, "Gwangbok Hong Kong-Era Revolution," which is regarded as a violation of the "National Security Law" in Hong Kong, was shouted outside Hong Kong.
On 13th, according to Hong Kong's South China Morning Post (SCMP) and AFP news agency, activists with placards called "Gwangbok Hong Kong / Era Revolution" held a rally in Japan and Taiwan the day before to demonstrate Hong Kong anti-government to commemorate the 3rd anniversary.
Dressed in black, they shouted slogans such as "Fight for freedom and be with Hong Kong." Many people wore yellow masks and held yellow umbrellas.
The Hong Kong protest, which began on June 12th, 2019, in opposition to the "extradition bill," which states that criminals can be repatriated to mainland China and tried, spread as an anti-government protest and the COVID-19 virus. It lasted for more than 6 months before the infectious disease pandemic began.
The slogan "Gwangbok Hong Kong / Revolution of the Times" and black clothes symbolize the demonstrators at that time, and yellow is the color that supports the demonstrators.
However, due to the Hong Kong National Security Act, which came into force on June 30th, 2020, all demonstrations disappeared in Hong Kong, and many democratic camp members fled and emigrated abroad.
"According to a message shared by Telegram, cities in 40 countries, including the United States, Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic and Denmark, are also planning a rally to commemorate the third anniversary of the Hong Kong protest," SCMP said.
