Russia "North Korea's proposal to dispatch troops to Ukraine is a lie" … "We have not conducted such negotiations"
The Russian government has officially denied allegations that North Korea has proposed a plan to dispatch 100,000 of its own troops to war with Ukraine.

According to Russia's Sputnik news agency on August 11th (local time), Ivan Nechayev, deputy director of the Information and Press Service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told the journalists, "We can responsibly say that the related reports are false from beginning to end. There have been no such negotiations", he said.

“We have no plans to dispatch North Korean militias to the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR),” he said, adding, “We are confident that the combat strength of the Russian Armed Forces and DPR/LPR militias is sufficient to complete the mission of the 'special military operation'."

Recently, in some parts of Russia, the theory of sending 100,000 North Korean troops has surfaced as the Russian army is struggling against the tenacious resistance of the Ukrainian army. This assertion is that if the North Korean army, which is strong in infantry warfare, participates in the war, it will be of great help to Russia, which is suffering from a shortage of troops.

However, there is a strong view among experts that North Korea is unlikely to go ahead with its troop dispatch while accepting further international sanctions and concerns over the spread of the COVID-19.

Instead, North Korea has recently been negotiating a plan to involve its workers in DPR/LPR reconstruction projects.
