Actor Lee Sang-bo, who is known to have been investigated by the police on suspicion of taking drugs, expressed his regret in a telephone interview with the information site "Edaily" late in the afternoon of the 13th.
Prior to this, on the 10th of this month, a mid-autumn celebration (Chuseok, mid-autumn festival), a male actor in his 40s was arrested and investigated by the police on suspicion of drug administration. After that, amidst the influx of speculative articles, some media outlets identified A as Lee Sang-bo.
Lee Sang-bo, who contacted the newspaper on the same day, said, "I have never seen or done drugs. I took a tranquilizer, not a drug." He continued, "Since 2010, I have been taking tranquilizers prescribed by a hospital that was introduced to me by an acquaintance because of severe mental distress after my parents and sister passed away."
He also explained in detail the process leading up to his arrest by the police.
Lee Sang-bo said, "It was a holiday, but I felt depressed when I thought that I had no family to meet and no place to go. I felt sorry for myself and took half a tranquilizer." I thought about it, and when I drank a can and a half of beer, I was surprised to feel dizzy, as if my body had been anesthetized."
He continued, "I went to and from the convenience store wearing slippers in that state, but the road leading to the convenience store was steep and the slippers were slippery, so I fell down twice. Someone who witnessed the situation called the police and the police were dispatched." said in detail.
Lee Sang-bo said, "At that time, 7 or 8 police officers surrounded me and asked me, 'Did you do drugs?' I was very upset." He added, "After that, the police opened the front door and searched the house, but found only two bags of tranquilizers. He explained to the police again that he had taken tranquilizers, but he was eventually arrested." claimed.
Regarding the report that the simple reagent test showed a positive result, he said, "I did blood, urine, and stool tests at the university hospital, but there was nothing wrong. Only one test came out like that. However, the attending physician said that there was nothing wrong with him."
Lee Sang-bo, who is suspected of violating the drug control law, was released on the 12th after completing the first investigation. The police are waiting for the results after asking the National Institute of Scientific Investigation to conduct a drug component test and a detailed analysis to confirm whether Lee Sang-bo used drugs.
Lee Sang-bo said, "Some articles said that I confessed to the suspicion during the police investigation, but I have never admitted to the accusations, it is frustrating that I have become a "drug addict" with numb limbs."
Lee Sang-bo, born in 1981, made his debut in 2006 with KBS 2TV Invisible Man Choi Jang-soo, followed by tvN Romance Hunter, KBS 2TV BAD LOVE ~Drowning in Love~, Kangcheol Honiro, and MBC. Appeared in many TV series such as "Man who lives only after he dies", OCN "Rugal", JTBC "Private life".
