North Korea Rejects talks with separated family authorities? South Korea's Unification Ministry "Not think it's a refusal"
South Korea's Ministry of Unification said it had not determined that North Korea had rejected a proposal to hold talks with officials to resolve the issue of separated families.

A source from the Ministry of Unification told reporters on September 15th, "North Korea has not disclosed its stance of refusal through the official media so far. We (The South Korean government) has not determined that the proposal was rejected.”

Prior to this, Unification Ministry Minister Kwon Yong-sae proposed a meeting between North and South Korean authorities to discuss the issue of separated families on 8th before the mid-autumn celebration (Chuseok). However, even after a week has passed, there has been no reply or response from North Korea.

On September 15th, South Korea tried to issue a letter in the name of Minister Kwon through the Inter-Korean Joint Liaison Office, but North Korea has yet to make a clear statement about its refusal to receive the letter.
