Kim Young-duk, the director of the Korean series "first victory" has passed away.

Former director Kim Young-deok passed away on the 21st at the age of 87. Born in Japan in 1936, joined the Nankai Hawks (currently the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks) in 1956 and debuted as a professional player. After moving to South Korea in 1964, he played for Korea Shipping Corporation, Crown Beer, and Hanil Bank.

In 1970, he became a player and coach at Hanil Bank and started his life as a coach. In 1982, at the same time as the KBO League was launched, he took command of the OB Bears. In 1982, he led the OB to victory in the "Korea Series" and became the first manager to win the "Korea Series" in the KBO League.

After that, he worked for the Samsung LaEons and the Pingre Eagles (now the Hanwha Eagles) before ending his coaching career in 1998 when he became the second team manager of the LG Twins.

Former head coach Kim Young-deok recorded 707 wins, 480 losses, and 20 draws in 1,207 games in the KBO League.
