French McDonald's reusable french fries containers popular
The Financial Times (FT) reported on February 19th (local time) that McDonald's France's red reusable containers for French fries instead of the food are gaining popularity.

The french fries container is made of bright red rubber, similar to traditional coated paper french fries containers. It was introduced by McDonald's to comply with a new French law banning the provision of single-use packaging and tableware to customers dining inside.

McDonald's French fries containers have become unexpectedly popular and have had side effects. It often happens that customers take this container after eating on the sales floor.

The FT said, "McDonald's French fries containers are so popular that customers have started taking them home as souvenirs. It's one of the problems the company has faced."

Aside from the theft, the FT added that the use of reusable containers would result in additional costs of up to 15,000 euros (US$21,000) per store for dishwashing, drying and storage, staff training, etc.
