According to South Korea's Jeju Autonomous Police on April 24th, four guesthouses were caught as a result of cracking down on illegal business activities at guesthouses around Aewol-eup, Jeju together with the Jeju City Health Management Division.
Guesthouse A operated like a club, charging an entrance fee of 30,000 won for men and 25,000 won for women. Here, the party venue was set up with mirror ball lighting, etc., and operated in such a way that people could dance and sing while drinking alcohol, and they even served food that had passed its expiration date as snacks. Declared only as a 'general restaurant,' the guest house can sell food and alcohol for money, but dancing is prohibited.
In the case of Guest House B, although the restaurant operated by the restaurant indicated the origin of the pork as produced in Jeju, it was found that the pork was actually produced in France and Spain.
Guest house C was arrested for not posting a general restaurant business declaration card in the party venue and storing it in another place.
A local police official said, "In July last year, seven men and women who met at a guest house party in Jeju were drunk driving, and even though there were casualties, business owners and customers were wary. We decided to carry out this crackdown because we don't have any."
The business operators exposed this time will be subject to criminal penalties such as violating the Food Sanitation Law and laws related to the labeling of the origin of agricultural and fishery products, as well as administrative measures (suspension of business, etc.).
