South Korea's former president Ban Ki-moon says, ``We should listen to the efforts of scientists'' regarding the release of treated water from Japan.

"Science is mixed with politics, and even facts cannot persuade. Japan's treated water discharge issue must not be mixed with politics either. This in itself is unfortunate and embarrassing."
