US semiconductor industry: ``Equipment exports to allies such as Japan and South Korea, and to China should be controlled''

The U.S. semiconductor industry has told the government it must extend its own multilateral export controls to prevent companies from allies such as Japan and South Korea from selling equipment needed to make cutting-edge semiconductors to China.
