China's Ministry of Finance recently announced that it will increase the budget by 2.3 billion former (about 49.6 billion yen) from the previous year to 158.2 billion former (about 3.3 billion yen) in order to narrow the urban-rural gap in compulsory education and secure funds for compulsory education in rural areas.
