On the 27th, the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) decided to register the "Sado Island Gold Mine" in Sado City, Niigata Prefecture as a World Heritage Site. This is the 21st cultural heritage site in Japan.
