Recently, it has been discovered that the number of kimbap and bunsik (noodle food) restaurants in South Korea has been decreasing. According to the Korea National Statistical Office, the number of kimbap (seaweed roll) restaurants has decreased from 41,726 in 2016 to 202,000 in 2019.
