South Korean government announces it will ”closely communicate and cooperate with the new cabinet” in response to Takaichi's election
On the 4th, the South Korean government announced that Sanae Takaichi, former Minister of Economic Security, had been elected as the new president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, effectively the next prime minister of Japan, and that she would "maintain close communication with the new cabinet and work to promote positive relations between Japan and South Korea."
