Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon and Lee Jae-myung both comment on Democratic Party representatives' fasting: ``If it becomes a precedent that will affect the investigation, even miscellaneous criminals will fast'' - South Korea

Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon said on the 4th that Lee Jae-myung and Lee Jae-myung, the representative of the Democratic Party (opposition party), are fasting.
``Wouldn't anyone fast if they received a summons notice?'' At a plenary session of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts of the National Assembly that day, Minister Han expressed concern that Lee's bulletproof fasting would hinder the investigation.
In response to a question from Rep. Cho Suzy (ruling party), who said, "I think the law will be strictly enforced, even if you take these points into consideration." added.
“Whether or not to fast and in what manner to fast is a matter of personal freedom, but it should not affect investigations and trials,” Han said.
Rep. Cho said, ``Representative Lee is going to be questioned on the 4th, so I asked him to be questioned for only two hours in the morning.
When asked, he answered, ``I haven't seen it, and I don't think the people have either.'' Today marks Lee's fifth day of fasting. Representative Lee posted on Facebook this morning, ``Many people
came to visit the fasting tent. I'm probably listening to deeper opinions than when I'm busy with my daily routine. Discussion about whether it is okay for opposition party representatives to fast if they have to fight in the Diet.
