protected. The news agency said, ``According to an institutional investigation, Mr. King believed that he trespassed into Republic territory out of resentment toward inhumane abuse and racial discrimination within the U.S. military, and disillusionment with the unequal U.S. society.''
"It turned white," he said. King was sentenced to a 5 million won (approximately 550,000 yen) fine in February this year for allegedly kicking and breaking the door of a police car in Seoul's Mapo district in October last year. but,
Mr. King did not pay the fine and worked in South Korea for 48 days starting May 24 of this year, and was released on July 10. He was then deported to Texas on July 17th to undergo additional punishment by the US military.
However, he disappeared without boarding a plane from Incheon Airport, and the next day, he crossed the border into North Korea while touring the JSA.
