韓国海洋水産省次官「日本のように “処理水”風評被害への補償はしない」
Vice-Minister of the South Korean Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries ``We will not compensate for reputational damage caused by treated water like Japan''
The South Korean government has announced that it will not compensate for the reputational damage caused by the release of radioactively treated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the ocean.
At a press conference on the 4th, Park Sung Hoon, vice-minister of the South Korean Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (Ministry), spoke about support plans for reputational damage.
I answered the question as before. Vice Minister Park said, ``As it is still difficult to confirm a direct causal relationship with the damage caused to fishermen due to the release of contaminated water (radioactively treated water),
"We have not considered compensation plans," he said. It also said, ``There were 41 radioactivity tests conducted on imported Japanese seafood products on the 26th of last month, but no seafood products were found to have radioactivity.''
He went on to explain, ``An emergency survey of marine radioactivity also found that both cesium and tritium were significantly lower than WHO (World Health Organization) standards.''
