The Bank of Korea announced on the 6th that Bank of Korea Governor Lee Chang-young will attend the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting to be held in Morocco and the IMF (International Monetary Fund)-WBG (World Bank Group).
He announced that he plans to depart on the 9th and return to the country on the 16th to attend the 2019 Joint Annual General Meeting. Governor Lee attended the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting and spoke about the global economy.
The plan is to exchange opinions with member countries' finance ministers, central bank governors, and key figures from international financial institutions on the current situation of crypto assets, the macroeconomic impact of crypto assets, and regulatory and supervisory measures.
The IMF/WBG Annual Meeting, which will be held next, will focus on the continued high interest rate level, economic and geopolitical fragmentation, and globalization.
The meeting will examine risk factors in the world economy, such as the debt problem, and discuss the direction of desirable policy responses. Furthermore, during the conference, Governor Lee spoke to the Institute of International Finance
