An opinion poll showed that President Yoon Seo-gyul's approval rating in national politics is 33%. The party support rate was the same for People's Power (ruling party) and Democratic Party (opposition party) at 34%.
According to the results of a survey conducted by Gallup Korea on the 13th between the 10th and 12th targeting 1,002 people aged 18 and over nationwide, President Yoon's performance of his duties was positively evaluated.
33%, an increase of 1 percentage point compared to the previous survey (September 19-21). The reasons for a positive evaluation were diplomacy (32%), national defense and security (12%), decisiveness, driving force, and perseverance (5%).
Overcoming the previous government (over 3%) was cited positively. Negative evaluations were counted at 58%, down 1 percentage point from the previous survey.
Negative evaluation factors include economy, public welfare, and prices (16%), diplomacy (13%), and arbitrary opinion.
Examples include personal/unilateral (9%) and human resources (7%). In line with People's Power, the party support rate was tied for the Democratic Party at 34%, an increase of 1 percentage point from the previous survey for both parties.
The Justice Party (opposition) was at 4%, the same as the previous survey, while independents who do not support a political party were at 26%, down 3 percentage points.
Regarding the general election to be held in April next year, it is expected that many opposition candidates will be elected in order to check the current government.
48% of respondents said that it must be possible. This was higher than the answer that ``Many ruling party candidates must win in order to support the current government'' (39%).
