受信料の分離徴収でKBSの収入が56億ウォン減少、広がる経営危機の不安=韓国
Separate collection of license fees reduces KBS's revenue by 5.6 billion won, raising fears of a growing business crisis = South Korea
Democratic Party lawmaker Cho Seung-rae, who is a member of the Science, Technology, Information, Broadcasting and Communications Committee of the South Korean National Assembly, released the national audit materials submitted by the Korea Broadcasting Corporation (KBS).
Separate collection of the 2,500 won (approximately 276 yen) monthly KBS reception fee, which was previously billed together with electricity charges, began in July with the enforcement of the Broadcasting Act. onwards,
The reception fee payment rate fell to 96% in August and 94.3% in September. For KBS, the amount in August was 2.36 billion won (approximately 261.17 million yen).
), the revenue for September will decrease by 3.33 billion won (approximately 368.55 million yen). This means that license fees for approximately 1.33 million units have not been paid. If things continue like this, separate collection will be implemented in earnest.
From October onwards, the decline in license fee collections is expected to widen further. According to KBS documents, when the enforcement order was revised in July, the Korea Electric Power Corporation needed a preparation period for separate collection operations.
We submitted an opinion that regulations regarding measures were necessary, but the Broadcasting and Communications Commission, which proceeded with the separate collection, ignored this opinion. The decision was made immediately, as it would take approximately three months for a complete separation of collections.
Rep. Cho said, ``The Broadcasting and Communications Commission is asking the public and the National Assembly how to respond to the decline in license fee income that is becoming a reality, and how to secure financial resources for South Korea's public broadcasters.
We must make this clear.''
