South Korean Prime Minister: ``Take all possible precautions to prevent lumpy skin disease''

On the 21st, Prime Minister Han Deok-soo of South Korea commented on the first outbreak of lumpy skin disease, a viral disease of cattle, in South Korea, saying, ``The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock and Food is the local government.
"I would like them to work closely with other organizations to ensure that all possible initial epidemic prevention measures are taken, including culling infected farms and breeding facilities, controlling movement, and monitoring and disinfecting in accordance with the emergency action guidelines."
At the same time, Prime Minister Han called on related ministries, agencies, and local governments to actively cooperate in implementing epidemic prevention measures.
Prime Minister Han also emphasized that, as this is the first outbreak of lumpy skin disease in South Korea, thorough epidemiological investigations should be carried out to quickly understand the cause of the infection and a vaccine should be developed quickly.
