SK Telecom and Deutsche Telekom partner to jointly develop AI large-scale language model = South Korean report

Telecommunications giant SK Telecom (SKT) announced on the 22nd that it will partner with German peer Deutsche Telekom to collaborate in generative artificial intelligence (AI).
This is an alliance that SKT established with Deutsche Telekom and Singapore's Singapore Telecom (SingTel) in July.
It is based on the AI Alliance. The two companies are collaborating with AI companies such as U.S. IT giant Meta and U.S. AI startup Antropic to develop large-scale, multilingual language services specifically for telecommunications companies.
We plan to jointly develop a language model (LLM). This is more suitable for communication services than the general LLM, and is used in areas such as customer service.
This is expected to help telecommunications companies develop AI agents and generative AI services tailored to the various regions and languages in which they are based.
. Aiming for release in January-March 2024. Using this LLM, we expect to be able to reduce the cost and time of platform development and create new business opportunities through AI innovation.
Mida. The two companies will also jointly develop AI platform technology that telecommunications companies can utilize when developing AI services. This allows carriers to more quickly and flexibly adapt to their environment.
