Ta. Under this strategy, the department aims to achieve its vision of converting 30% of petroleum-based manufacturing to biotechnology by 2030, by providing support for research and development (R&D) of core technologies and synthetic biotechnology.
He presented a series of strategies for promoting projects that utilize physics, building infrastructure such as biofoundries (contract manufacturing), developing human resources, and strengthening international cooperation.
First, we will carry out a mission to raise the technological capabilities of synthetic biology from 75% of the US level (2020 standard) to 90% by 2030.
Promote research and development of molds. Together with experts from industry, academia, and research, we will divide the six major fields of synthetic biology into 17 technologies, and proceed with R&D from basic research to applied development stages, depending on the level of each technology.
We also promote projects to solve the world's difficult problems and create new markets. Innovation in the medical field, decomposition and replacement of pollutants, and production of high value-added materials.
Proceeding with 9 projects in 3 major fields. Furthermore, in the future, the government will take the lead in building public biofoundries, specializing in each industry and collaborating with regionally specialized industries.
We will continue to build a new industry. In addition, there are plans to revitalize international cooperation with organizations around the world and human resource development.
