G-DRAGON's ``communications seizure and search'' warrant dismissed...Request policy = South Korea

It has been reported that a search warrant for the seizure of communications against South Korean singer Kwon JIYEON (35, known as G-DRAGON), who was charged with drug use, has been dismissed.
On the 31st, according to the legal community and the police, the South Korean Incheon National Police Agency's drug crime investigation team recently received drug charges under the Narcotics Control Act.
The court applied for a search warrant to seize communications against Mr. Kwon, but the court rejected the request, saying ``the explanation of the crime was insufficient.''
After further investigation, the police issued a search warrant for Mr. Kwon's communications.
The plan is to reapply. In addition, the plan is to secure details of Kwon's communications and confirm his specific relationships with the doctor who supplied the drugs, the people involved in the entertainment facility in Gangnam, Seoul, etc.
Prior to this, in the middle of last month, police had confirmed intelligence that drugs were being distributed at an entertainment facility in Gangnam, Seoul.
Kwon, actor Lee Sun Kyun (48), and others were arrested on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act. In response, Kwon repeatedly denied the charges, saying, ``There is no evidence that I administered drugs.''
``We will actively cooperate with the investigation by investigative agencies.'' Attorney Kim Soo Hyun, Kwon's legal representative, stated his position on the 31st, saying, ``Mr. Kwon will be arrested on the 6th of next month by the Incheon Police
I will voluntarily attend the criminal investigation." On the other hand, ``We are taking steps to ensure that media outlets do not cause irreversible damage to Kwon, one of South Korea's leading K-pop artists, due to the reporting of baseless false facts.''
``We want media outlets to take a responsible attitude,'' and ``We will take strong action to the end against speculative reports, including false reports and defamation.''
It is known that Mr. Kwon will be investigated on the afternoon of the 6th of next month at the Incheon Nonhyeon Police Station, where the Narcotics and Crime Investigation Office is located.
