Escaped suspect Kim Gil-soo was extradited to Seoul Detention Center 70 hours later

Kim Gil-soo (36), who was detained at Seoul Detention Center on suspicion of special robbery and escaped during hospital treatment, has been handed over to the detention center.

According to the law, if an inmate escapes, prison officers can arrest the inmate within 72 hours of the escape. Kim, who was being held at the Seoul Detention Center, was hospitalized at 6:20 a.m. on the 4th due to illness in Anyang City.
While receiving treatment at the hospital, he escaped from the eyes of the Seoul Detention Center officials who were monitoring him. Police launched an investigation at 9:00 p.m. on the 6th, 70 hours after Kim fled.
Kim was arrested based on an arrest warrant in Uijeongbu City at the 6th minute. The police, who took Kim to Anyang Dongan Police Station around midnight the next day, quickly conducted a basic investigation and determined whether an incident had occurred.
The policy is to hand over the person to the detention center (prison officer) before 72 hours have passed. The police said that the existing charge of special robbery on which Kim was detained based on the Criminal Execution Act was not effective.
Considering the remaining points, we determined that there is a concern that unexpected problems such as ``double detention'' may occur if the suspect is detained again due to this escape incident.
As a result, the police quickly grasped the details of the incident without taking a long time to investigate, and took Kim into custody.
By handing the matter over to the local authorities, the possibility of legal problems arising was blocked. It appears that the police and other related organizations have repeatedly considered the legal principles regarding the timing of Kim's extradition.
Previously, on the 30th of last month, Kim, who was arrested by the police on suspicion of special robbery, was seen holding a plastic spoon while eating at the detention center of Seocho Police Station, Seoul.
About 5 centimeters of my hand was swallowed. As a result, Kim, who was transferred to the hospital without attending the pre-arrest suspect hearing (warrant substantive examination), vomited up the foreign object he had swallowed during an endoscopy.
He refused to do so, and was subsequently detained and sent to prison. Kim was taken to Seoul Detention Center on the 2nd, was transferred to the hospital again, and on the third day of treatment, he escaped from surveillance and went on a three-day escapade.
