South Korea has concluded the U.S.-South Korea Supply Assurance Arrangement (SOSA), which allows it to preferentially purchase defense industrial materials made in the United States.

South Korea became the 16th country to sign an agreement between the institutions to support mutual preferential supply. Both the United States and South Korea held a meeting in Washington, D.C. in July this year.
The Defense Industry and Technology Cooperation Committee has agreed to conclude a SOSA between the United States and South Korea.
The Korea Defense Projects Agency said, ``By signing SOSA, Korea will be given preferential purchase of defense industrial materials made in the United States.
``It will be useful in the timely strategizing and availability of domestic weapons systems,'' he predicted.
