R&D expenditure as a percentage of GDP in 2022 will be second in the world, with investment amount of 112 trillion won = South Korea

The South Korean Ministry of Science, Technology, and Information Communication has announced the ``Results of a Survey of Research and Development Activities,'' which investigated and analyzed the current state of research and development activities conducted by public institutions and private companies in South Korea for the year 2022.
Targeting a total of 73,661 institutions conducting research and development activities, including public research institutes, universities, and companies, the project was implemented in accordance with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) guidelines regarding research and development expenses, human resources, etc.

Japan's total market share is 5.21%, ranking second in the world after Israel. The number of researchers totaled 601,530, an increase of 2.5%. Including research assistants, the number reached 813,763, an increase of 3.6%.
do. Looking at the current state of R&D activities of Korean companies, the R&D costs invested by companies are 89,421.2 billion won (approximately 9,829.3 billion yen), accounting for 79.4% of the total R&D costs.
The number of researchers was 443,270, accounting for 73.7% of all research institutes. Companies with top 10 sales, research institutes, and research institutes with doctoral qualifications belong to them.
Both R&D expenses and the number of researchers decreased. On the other hand, R&D expenses for companies ranked 11th to 30th increased by more than three times.
