現代・起亜自がチェーン一体型タイヤ技術を開発、ボタン1つでチェーンを着脱=韓国
Hyundai and Kia develop tire technology with integrated chain, allowing chains to be attached and detached with a single button = South Korea
On the 11th, Hyundai and Kia Motors unveiled chain-integrated tire technology that uses shape memory alloy. During peacetime, modules using shape memory alloys are hidden inside the wheels and tires.
However, it operates on the principle that when it receives an electrical signal, it protrudes outside the tire and acts as a chain. If this technology is put into practical use, cars will automatically chain their tires with the touch of a button.
You will be able to attach and detach the Chain-integrated tires have holes shaped like a pizza cut out at regular intervals in the wheel and tire, and modules made of shape memory alloy are inserted into the holes.
It has a structure in which one is inserted one by one. It takes advantage of the property of shape memory alloys, which tend to return to their former shape when an electric current is passed through them. The shape memory alloy inside the wheel uses the force of the spring when in normal driving mode.
When pushed, it has an L-shape, but when an electric current is applied, it changes to a former J-shape, pushing the module out of the tire. In the unlikely event that tire wear progresses, the surface may become unstable in normal driving mode.
If the tire temperature drops to a certain level, the driver will be able to know when the tires are worn out and when it is time to replace them. Kia Motors has patents related to this technology in South Korea and the United States.
I have applied. The feasibility of mass production will be considered after technological advancement and durability and performance tests.
