Suspect A has been in Seoul, Gyeonggi (Gyeonggi), Daejeon (Daejeon), and Pusa since September.
He is accused of walking around beauty salons across the country, including in Busan, and stealing money and goods by touching customers' removed coats. Suspect A said, ``My friend is coming for a haircut, so I'll wait for a while.''
He committed the crime after distracting the beauty salon owner. A YouTube video recently released by the National Police Agency shows Suspect A sitting on a chair in a hair salon, pretending to yawn, and then hanging a hair clip on the wall.
He was seen touching the hairdresser's clothes and stealing her wallet. In the video, Suspect A takes the opportunity when the hairdresser is doing a customer's hair, pulls out his wallet, pretends to stretch, and then shoots himself.
He was seen hiding his wallet in his hoodie. Suspect A, who stole the wallet, leisurely slipped out of the beauty salon. When the hairdresser noticed that Suspect A was missing, she noticed that something was wrong with the hairdresser who was hanging on the wall.
When I checked the scene, Suspect A had already fled. Through analysis of nearby security cameras, police discovered that about 1 hour and 30 minutes later, he was found hiding in the grass about 2 kilometers away from the beauty salon.
Suspect A was found and arrested. As a result of the investigation by the police, Suspect A has been traveling around the country since September using similar tactics and has carried out extortion money worth a total of 25 million won (approximately 2.7 million yen) on 37 occasions.
It was revealed that money and credit cards were stolen. Suspect A was arrested and sent to the prosecutor's office on suspicion of theft under the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specified Crimes.
