Male idol/rapper indictment without detention for ``voyeurism approximately 20 times' of his girlfriend... under trial

Rapper Mr. A, a former member of a male idol group, was indicted on suspicion of voyeurism for filming his ex-girlfriend approximately 20 times with a hidden camera.

According to a report by the Seoul Western District Public Prosecutors Office and the Culture Daily on the 22nd, Mr. A is suspected of taking 18 photos of his ex-girlfriend Ms. B, with whom he had a relationship from July last year to May this year, including sexual scenes and major body parts.

Mr. A put an eye mask on Ms. B and secretly filmed her with a silent camera application. He is also alleged to have photographed the back view of Ms. C, whom he met at a tavern in Gangnam District, Seoul, four times last July, while she was lying on the bed wearing only her underwear.

In response, the Yongsan Police Station referred Mr. A to prosecutors in September, and the District Public Prosecutor's Office in western Seoul indicted him at home on August 8 on suspicion of violating the Special Law on Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes. The fact that the said video was disseminated was not confirmed.

Mr. A debuted in 2017 as a five-member idol group and suspended his activities in 2019 for health reasons. Other members of the idol group in question also received suspended prison sentences in 2019 for alleged indecent assault of a minor.
