'I tried to stop him from committing suicide'...Defense of a teenager who held a deadly weapon at a colleague at work = South Korea

A teenage man who brandished a deadly weapon and injured a co-worker, lying that he was trying to stop him from committing suicide, has been detained.
On the 29th, Gyeonggi-do Ilsan Dongbu Police Station reported a case of attempted murder.
It was revealed that suspect A, a teenager, was detained on suspicion. At around 2:40 a.m. on the 24th of this month, Suspect A had drinks with co-worker B at an officetel (a residential office) in Goyang City.
He is accused of drinking alcohol and stabbing Mr. B several times in the neck and stomach with a weapon found in the kitchen. Mr. B received first aid and was taken to the hospital, but it was determined that his injuries were not life-threatening.
Suspect A gave a false statement to the police, saying, ``My friend was trying to commit suicide and I injured his hand when I tried to stop him,'' but Mr. B stated that Suspect A had committed the crime.
. Police pursued Suspect A and arrested him red-handed at the scene. During the police investigation, suspect A stated, ``I was drunk at the time of the crime and have no recollection of it.''
The police plan to conduct additional investigation and refer suspect A to the prosecutor's office.
