According to the police, more than 50 people, including 23 riot police and 26 employees from the Busan Police Station, were deployed to protect Lee's schedule that day.
On this day, the suspect wore a blue paper crown with words such as ``Support Lee Jae-Myung'' written on it and was wearing a hat.
It is believed that he was not considered a dangerous person because he pretended to be a supporter of Lee, including by posing as a supporter. The suspect yelled, ``I want an autograph,'' and stepped in between the reporters, suddenly approaching Lee.
It is reported that he attacked Lee and brandished a deadly weapon at Lee's neck. Representative Lee immediately fell to the floor, and the suspect was quickly apprehended by people nearby and the police. then 10 minutes
After the incident was over, Lee was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The suspect is believed to be a man in his 60s or 70s, and it is reported that he attacked Lee with a 20-30cm long weapon.
Police are escorting the arrested suspect to the police station to ascertain his identity and investigate the motive behind the crime.
