31 people killed in landslide in China's Yunnan province, 16 still missing - Chinese report

A large-scale landslide occurred around 6 a.m. (local time) on the 22nd in Zhenxiong County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, China. Initially, 18 houses were buried in mud and 47 people were missing.
It became light. According to prefectural authorities, as of 5:40 p.m. on the 23rd, 31 of the 47 missing people had been rescued from the mud, but all were confirmed dead.
To date, a total of 918 residents from 223 households have been evacuated. Approximately 1,000 rescue workers continued to carry out search and rescue operations in temperatures as low as -2 degrees Celsius.
