Ministry of Employment and Labor imposes strict measures on Hyundai Steel after gas poisoning accident = South Korea
The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 7th that it plans to take strict action against Hyundai Steel's Incheon plant, where one person died and six others were injured in a work accident.
This is the fourth time that a serious accident has occurred at a plant affiliated with Hyundai Steel since the enforcement of the Serious Disaster Punishment Act.
According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, sludge was discovered at around 10:50 a.m. the previous day in a storage tank at the Hyundai Steel Plant in Dong-gu, Incheon.
Two workers carrying the sludge lost consciousness and collapsed, and the worker who went in to rescue them was also involved in the accident. One person died in this accident. The exact cause of death is under investigation, but an autopsy will be performed.

The Serious Disaster Punishment Act applies to the steel manufacturing industry as well as the subcontractors where this accident occurred, as they have between 5 and 49 regular workers.
